The Shutterbug Award will only accept entries from photographers who are considered non–professional by the standards of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers. i.e. Photographers who make less than $20,000 per annum from photography. This includes International Entrants.

All images submitted to The Shutterbug Award remain the copyright of the photographer. 

 

Spectrum, Freestyle, Snapshot, The Series.

 

The Series is a theme based multiple image entry. A minimum of fifteen images is required with a theme of your choice.

Spectrum, Freestyle and Snapshot are open for single image entries. There is no limit on how many times you can enter.

The top three finalists in each of the single image categories of Spectrum, Freestyle and Snapshot win the Shutterbug Award 2012 book with their images in it. A unique opportunity to have your work published along-side other award winning photographers. 

The overall winner in each of the Spectrum, Freestyle or Snapshot single image categories also wins prizes valued at $500.

The Series - This is our toughest category with a minimum of 15 images required for entry. This is also our only eligible category for taking out the Shutterbug Award and the major prizes on offer.

All Australian entrants to the series recieve a $30.00 voucher to use on any photobook product with our sponsor Momento.

Although we value any photographer who submits images to any of the categories, 'The Series' is the predominate category that Shutterbug focuses on. This has been our vision from the beginning. We see this as an ideal platform to have a body of your work seen and appreciated. It encourages photographers to strive for excellence across a series of images rather than a single photograph. This is great experience for the real world of commercial photography. Have you got what it takes?

Spectrum - This is your spectrum. Your vision. What you capture when you're out and about.
Street, Landscape, Beaches, Water, Nature. The list is endless on the great outdoors.

Freestyle - Fashion, Portraiture, Journalistic, Music or Art. 
Edgy, Soft, Surreal, Black and White. Whatever your style, we want to see your shots and editorial images.

Snapshot - All you Hipstamatic, Instagram and Tilt-shift addicts. Lets see what random snapshots you've got hidden away or why not start shooting to win. We want to see those prize winning images.
